Hey there, fellow pickleball addicts! I'm Dana, the owner and creator behind Pickled Ape. I'm about to take you on a little journey, the same one that took me from a pickleball beginner to a passionate advocate for this addictive sport. So, grab your paddle, and let's dive in!
It all started in the summer of 2023. There I was, a complete newbie (an oddly confident one for some reason), stepping onto the pickleball court for the first time. That confidence didn't last long however as I got my butt handed to me – or as we say in the sport, I got "pickled" – in every match. But yet something drove me to return the next day ... and the day after that ... and before I knew it; I was hooked! I went completely ape sh*t for pickleball, craving the challenge, the community, and yes, even the sweet taste of occasional victory.
As I continued to play and meet other players, I realized that my journey wasn't unique at all. In fact, my story is something almost every pickleball player can relate to — going crazy for a game that you're measurably terrible at when you first start. Inspired by the magical nature of the game, Pickled Ape was born. A brand that defines the path of many from pickled zeros to dinking heroes.
Pickled Ape was created to represent the path of going from a pickled zero to a dinking hero. It's as much of a lifestyle as it is a brand, reflecting the fun, the challenges, and the spirit of pickleball.
